My idea: I would like to do my Visual Story project as a cautionary tale of our world currently and how we are headed towards the end of days. I will use photos that correlate to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse- Death, War, Pestilence and Famine.

Critics: According to Sontag, " In teaching us a new visual code, photographs alter and enlarge our notions of what is worth looking at and what we have a right to observe." To me this directly relates to the field of photojournalism. Since my photos fall into that category, I want my viewers to question whether or not they have the right to see such private events (the deaths, disease, etc.) or whether these events must be seen by the public to enhance our knowledge and understanding of our world.

Search: I went to the TIME magazine website because, A.) I wanted current events and B.) I wanted the images to be visually striking, which the magazine is known for. Then I found "A year in photographs" and selected photos that related to the four horsemen, however I did not find any of pestilence, so my search is still under way.

Prezi: I had some technical difficulties uploading my images to Prezi, but once I was able to I messed around with the website to familiarize myself with it. I still want to do some photo-editing so therefore my Prezi is not complete. However, I know I want to convey that the state of our world is unstable and we are unaware how close we are to the end of the world. To do this I may want to throw in some images from news broadcasts that show how limited our knowledge is about what is going on in our world.

My Point: I want to open people's eyes to the power of photojournalism. The striking images that I have chosen speak for themselves- our world is in a state of chaos and we as Americans are blissfully unaware.

What's next: I will need more pictures, not only of pestilence in our world but also photos from real news broadcasts here in America that show our disinterest in global affairs and how trivial "News" has become to us.
